In an interview conducted by Tudor Curtifan at DC News, Cătălin Podaru, CEO of Leviatan Design, and Rodica Lupu, Director of TEC Cluster and CEO of Loop Operations, talked about digitization in the construction industry and the use of robotics and artificial intelligence to counteract the problems related to the labor shortage in this sector.
The interview took place in the preamble of the INNOCONSTRUCT – How Digital, How Fast, event, the most important conference on the digitalization of the construction industry in Romania, organized by TEC Cluster, which will take place between May 18 and May 19, 2023.
Cătălin Podaru explained what he believes are the advantages of digitalization in construction, starting from the best practices adopted by Leviatan and showed that the technological transformation of this sector could only be possible through a collective effort of the construction companies in Romania.
“For us, digitalization has become a central element in the development of our companies.
The transformation cannot occur only in a few companies, but needs to become a practice across the entire construction field, because the benefits are for everyone if this happens,” said Cătălin Podaru, CEO of Leviatan Design.
Desiring to promote digitalization in the construction field, Leviatan Design company will support the organization of the third edition of the INNOCONSTRUCT conference, as the main sponsor of the event.
“At INNOCONSTRUCT, for all those intending to take a step in this direction in the coming years, will be presented: good practices, case studies, concrete examples of what the companies that have digitized managed to achieve, the benefits and the general impact their digitization efforts.,” stated Rodica Lupu, Director of TEC Cluster and CEO of Loop Operations.
Starting from the idea that the construction sector is one of the industries considered to be the hardest to digitize, and Romania is among the last countries in Europe in terms of construction technologization, Cătălin Podaru explained that companies in Romania can recover this gap, without needing to go through years or even decades of iterations, to reach a certain level.
“Companies in Romania have the chance to make leaps, just like we did. In a few years, we can compare ourselves to the most technologically advanced countries in construction,” underlined Cătălin Podaru, CEO of Leviatan Design.
