Leviatan Design has offered its support for the initiative of the think tank New Strategy Center to organize a camp in Romania for the children of Ukrainian soldiers from the 128th Mountain Brigade of Transcarpathia, who distinguished themselves in the battles for the liberation of the city of Kherson and other important areas in Ukraine under Russian occupation.
Thus, Cătălin Podaru, CEO of Leviatan Design, recently visited Ukraine, in Uzhhorod, alongside George Scutaru, General Director of the New Strategy Center, to be with the Ukrainian children at the start of their journey to Romania.
During the visit in Uzhhorod, Cătălin Podaru stated that “such a project has the benefit of offering children from Ukraine the chance to directly know Romania, to find out how we live and how we support Ukraine. After the war ends, we look forward to welcoming them back for visits.”
Also, in the context of this visit, Cătălin Podaru and George Scutaru had a meeting with the Ambassador of Romania to Kiev, H.E. Victor Micula, and several local officials, to lay the groundwork for future collaboration agreements.
The camp organized by the New Strategy Center will take place from July 16 to August 1, and on this occasion, 25 children from Transcarpathia, along with 5 companions, will visit the Dolphinarium in Constanța and will go on trips along the Romanian coast and in the counties of Bistrița-Năsăud and Brașov, to visit the Black Church, Dino Park in Râșnov, and several museums. Among the participants at this camp are also children of Ukrainian fighters of Romanian ethnicity.
“Although neighbors, we are just beginning to get to know each other better, Romanians and Ukrainians. We are glad that this group of children from Transcarpathia will see the beauties of Romania for the first time, will have their first beautiful memories of our country. We have the chance for a future together, in the EU and NATO. Romania will support Ukraine as much as necessary, to free your territories,” declared George Scutaru, General Director of NSC, during the visit in Ukraine.
Viktor Mykyta, president of the Transcarpathian Regional Military Administration, stated during the meeting in Uzhhorod that “the parents of these children distinguished themselves in the battles for the defense of Kherson, and now they are again on the front. We thank you for allowing these children to get to know Romania. Thank you for the help and support of Romania. We are in great need of this help.”
Supporting this initiative is part of a long series of actions and events that have benefited from the support of Leviatan Design, through which our company aims to expand its CSR support activities.
