The constant desire for knowledge and development drives Leviatan Design’s team members to explore new horizons, find new sources of inspiration, and excel in everything they do.
This is how the story of the Leviatan Traveler started in 2022, reflecting the team’s spirit of adventure and how travel experiences contribute to the team’s evolution.
Their desire to explore the world motivates them to step out of their comfort zone, innovate, and develop large-scale projects using cutting-edge technology, tailored to fit the needs of current and future generations.
Therefore, traveling significantly impacts the team’s performance, enhancing their ability to respond effectively to professional challenges. Also, it allows Leviatan Design’s team members to discover best practices from other countries, and to adapt and integrate them according to the specific needs of their projects.
Leviatan Traveler’s adventures
The Leviatan Traveler journeyed more than 44,000 km in 2022 and discovered many fascinating places in France, Slovakia, the United States, and other countries. In Paris, the capital of France, he admired the beauty of the Seine River’s banks and the Arch of Triumph, designed by architect Jean-François Chalgrin. Salt Lake City, one of the cities that Leviatan Traveler visited in the United States, at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains in Utah, surprised him with its spectacular landscapes and rich cultural heritage. In Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, he was struck by the city’s panorama from the observation deck of the New Bridge, 95 meters above sea level. From there, he admired the architecture of the houses, the imposing Danube, and the Bratislava Castle.
In 2023, the Leviatan Traveler covered over 75,000 km, exploring new lands and enjoying unique experiences. Denmark, Spain, and Saudi Arabia are just three of the destinations he has seen over the past year.
In Denmark, he visited cities such as Copenhagen and Helsingør, where he admired Kronborg Castle, the setting of William Shakespeare’s play Hamlet. In Spain, he created unforgettable memories after visiting Barcelona, where he was impressed by Antoni Gaudi’s visionary architecture, as reflected in famous works such as the Sagrada Familia, Casa Batllo, and Park Guell. In Saudi Arabia, he explored the city of Al Majma’ah and the country’s capital, Riyadh, where he climbed the Kingdom Centre skyscraper to the 99th floor and witnessed a spectacular view.
In early 2024, the Leviatan Traveler visited the cold land of Iceland, where he was delighted to see the country’s tallest church, Hallgrimskirkja, designed by architect Gudjon Samuelsson. From the land of elf legends, he then traveled to Dubai, where he climbed to the 125th floor of the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, in less than two minutes.
Discovering the world’s architectural diversity fuels the Leviatan team’s curiosity and creative spirit. That is why Leviatan Traveler continues to explore unique new destinations and add value to all company-developed projects. At Leviatan Design, all team members are encouraged to share their remarkable travel stories and moments, so dozens of team members write the Leviatan Traveler story year after year. In doing so, they help create an inspiring and positive work environment.
Travel and win, a contest that supports the creative energy of Leviatan Design’s team
To reward the commitment of the Leviatan team, but also to support its team members’ passion for knowledge and facilitate their access to a wider range of experiences, the company has even created an internal competition for employees, called Travel and Win.
Alexandru, Plumbing Design Engineer, surprised his colleagues along the way with the photos and videos he took on his journeys and in doing so received the popularity prize of a two-night stay in Sinaia. This officially opened the Travel and Win competition.
“It is a great joy for me to share with my colleagues the places I have visited. I was pleasantly surprised to receive this award from the company and to have a new experience of traveling”, confessed Alexandru.
The first edition of the competition was won by Antonio, Marketing Specialist in the company, after shooting a spectacular video with his drone in Alexandroupolis, Greece. Antonio was awarded a 700 lei voucher to Decathlon.
Sorana, who also works in the Marketing Department, won the second edition of the competition after she submitted a video she shot in Sibiu. She won a 700 lei voucher from SportGuru.
“I can say that every edition of the competition is a joy in the company. I won this prize in the first part of the year, after showing my colleagues some special moments I spent with my children in Sibiu during the winter holidays. I was happy to buy new hiking gear from SportGuru with the voucher I won”, said Sorana.
Giulia, Construction Design Engineer in the Structural Engineering Office, invited her colleagues to discover fairytale lands after sharing a video she shot in Iceland. So, she won the third edition of the competition, being rewarded with a unique weekend at the Moon Resort in Bușteni.
“The trip to Moon Resorts was unforgettable and the perfect weather allowed us to do two mountain trails in one weekend. The prize included a dinner at the Cantacuzino Castle restaurant, where the elegant ambiance and historic decor transformed the dining experience into a fairytale,” Giulia told us.
Monica, Construction Design Engineer, was awarded a complete experience at the Porumbacu Treehouse in Sibiu County after winning the fourth edition after she submitted a video highlighting the charm of several tourist attractions in Barcelona.
