On October 27-28, 2022, the BIMcon event took place, annually gathering experts from the world of construction technologies and standards.
At BIMcon 2022, discussions focused on the latest software and processes implemented globally in the construction field, and in this regard, concepts such as openBIM, Industry 4.0 and Digital Twins were approached, which represent landmarks of innovation in this domain.
Furthermore, the event paid particular attention to successful pilot projects developed with the help of BIM technology, and for the first time in Romania, BuildingSMART Professional Certifications were presented, with the support of Leviatan Design.
Maria Văsi and Romina Posea, our colleagues who have made a significant contribution in adopting and implementing new construction technologies within the company, participated in this year’s edition of the event.
At the invitation of our partner, Graitec Romania, Maria Văsi, Head of Structural Engineering Office & BIM Implementation Manager at Leviatan Design, participated alongside Daniel Gheorghe, Technical Specialist at Graitec Romania, in the panel Successful BIM Stories – Industry 4.0.
Maria Văsi spoke about the advantages of using BIM and explained why it was important to standardize processes and establish a unified way of working between the teams of the Architecture, Structure, and Installation departments within Leviatan Design.
“The unified and collaborative way of working contributes to quality and cross-checks between specialties, which we carry out at intermediate points in the design process. Through these, we ensure that the standards and internal work instructions are respected, as well as the fact that the minimum level of detailing is achieved, and thus the project has the same mode of presentation, regardless of the composition and work style of our teams,” pointed out Maria Vasi, Head of Structural Engineering Office & BIM Implementation Manager at Leviatan Design.
In our endeavor to adopt and implement new construction technologies, we have benefited from the support of our partner Graitec Romania, which offers us specialized training services and assistance in implementing Graitec and Autodesk software solutions, as well as consultancy towards the adoption of BIM design technology.
Romina Posea, Head of Planning & Continuous Improvement Office at Leviatan Design, spoke at BIMcon 2022, within the BuildingSMART Romania panel, about the benefits of BuildingSMART Professional Certification. The continuous improvement of employees, through obtaining such a certification, allows companies to align with the standards and latest trends in the evolution of BIM in design and execution processes.
“This certification is a good starting point, especially coming from an organization with experience and relevance. Thinking about the certification of specialists within the organization by an international body, the company strengthens its credibility with other actors,” explained Romina Posea, Head of Planning & Continuous Improvement Office at Leviatan Design.
BuildingSMART is a neutral international forum for initiating, developing, creating and adopting open digital standards for BIM processes, committed to creating and developing open digital ways of working for the built asset industry.
