The practice and internship programs that took place in 2024 at Leviatan Design accommodated several talented students from the Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest, the University Politehnica of Bucharest, and the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. Under the guidance of our specialists, they experienced a real BIM adventure.
The students were engaged in real civil engineering and construction projects in a digitalized company, where the team carried out projects exclusively in 3D and used BIM processes, cutting-edge equipment, and technologies. The programs were designed so that the students assimilate new knowledge about BIM processes applied in Design & Build projects.
The practice and internship opportunities offered by Leviatan Design in 2024 were presented for the first time at ConstructFest at the Leviatan Group booth, where students received a total of 1500 prizes. The grand prize, consisting of a pair of Meta Quest 3 VR headsets, was handed out in an online competition on Leviatan Design’s Facebook and Instagram pages. The grand prize went to Paul, a third-year student at the Faculty of Geodesy—UTCB.
Practice
At the beginning of the practice program, launched in the second part of June, the students interacted with Leviatan’s specialists from the Structural Engineering, MEP Systems, Planning and Continuous Process Improvement, and Technical Assistance departments. This allowed them to discover the advantages of BIM methodology, create 3D models in Revit, and understand how digitization contributes to creating innovative, high-quality projects.
The site visits allowed students to explore one of Leviatan’s projects, including constructing an administrative pavilion. The HoloLens 2 glasses gave them an immersive experience, allowing them to analyze the 3D model of the pavilion in the construction phase. In this way, future engineers understand the importance of using advanced technologies in construction and how these innovations help improve such projects’ efficiency and accuracy. The students highly appreciated the site visit, which was extremely important in their development as future construction professionals.
During the program, students could attend several exciting presentations about the advantages of advanced technologies in construction projects. For example, Leviatan specialists from the Digital Twin, Topography, and Advanced Telemetry Department spoke to the students about fixed and mobile scanners, drones, georadar, GNSS equipment, and robotic total stations used by Leviatan experts in collecting field data. They could see what products Leviatan’s experts get from processing field data and how they integrate them into Autodesk software. They could then learn about Digital Twin and how they can verify the project. In addition, Daniel Gheorghe, representative of Graitec Romania, Leviatan Design’s strategic partner in adopting and implementing new technologies, joined Leviatan’s internship again this year, providing the students with valuable know-how.
The practice program also allowed students to model electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems in Revit and perform functional diagrams and calculations in Dialux in the MEP Systems Department. In the Structures Engineering Department, the future engineers went through the early stages of design, which consisted of site surveys, project data sheet preparation, and structure conforming and modeling in ETABS. They also modeled the reinforcement and formwork elements of the structure in Revit.
For the Leviatan specialists, seeing the students develop their skills and fulfill their potential was an absolute joy. They are proud of the journey they have taken in the practice program.

Internship
The BIM adventure continued during the internship program for several students from the Technical University of Civil Engineering in Bucharest, as well as for one student from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, who was able to explore the execution process on one of the construction sites run by Leviatan Group in Câmpia Turzii. The internship allowed the students to learn how to use new advanced technologies and digital tools in real projects so that they understand the complexity of construction projects and the challenges of this industry.

Sociology and Social Work at the University of Bucharest, which gave her the opportunity to use her knowledge in the HR Department. At the end of the internship, she joined the Leviatan team.
The students from the Technical University of Civil Engineering in Bucharest have been engaged in building seismic risk consolidation projects in Bucharest, carried out by Leviatan Design. Thus, in the Departments of MEP Systems and Structural Engineering, the students collected and analyzed relevant project information studied regulations, and contributed to the 3D modeling of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, as well as structures, under the guidance of their mentors.
Eleven students graduated from the internship program, demonstrating responsibility in their learning process and making impressive progress.
The students particularly appreciated the access to cutting-edge technologies, the positive working environment, and their effective collaboration with their mentors. They were also enthusiastic about the interactive learning methods, through which they acquired many valuable skills and knowledge.
