Technology is one of the essentials of the everyday life, but also of critical areas, such as national security.
Leviatan Design focuses on increasing investment in technology and believes that it is only by continuing to innovate that the society can adapt to the challenges of the future. Therefore, we are honoured to have been able to support the organisation of the second “Unmanned Systems Forum. Smart Approach, Fast Development” conference that took place over 22-23 February 2022. It was organised by the New Strategy Centre thinktank, with support from the Ministry of National Defence (as institutional partner).
Conference participants acknowledged the need to constantly adapt to traditional and emerging security challenges, and focused on the potential to develop and use unmanned aircraft systems in Romania in its efforts to upgrade its defence capabilities.
The technologies of the future have been around for some time, so they impact our security directly. Although they can also be used for commercial or recreational purposes, drones or unmanned aircraft systems are playing an ever more central role in our national security efforts.
The Unmanned Systems Forum is Romania’s most important event focusing on this topic and we are glad to have been able to support the New Strategy Centre Association in organizing this edition.

Thank you letter – New Strategy Center
Dear Mr. Cătălin Podaru,
We would like to avail ourselves of this opportunity to thank you for the significant support that you gave to the second “Unmanned Systems Forum. Smart Approach, Fast Development” event, which happened in Bucharest over 22-23 February. The event was a success, considering the level of the debates and the valuable ideas that were shared on this occasion. The online and in-person participants highly appreciated this forum.
“Unmanned Systems Forum” has consolidated its position as the most important event in Romania in the field of unmanned systems, and brought together officials and civilian and military experts from Romania and other NATO and EU member states, as well as representatives of academia and companies having an extensive experience in the field. Recognising the importance of a structured platform for debate on vital topics such as the assessment of the security challenges in the Black Sea region and the potential use of unmanned systems in this area, the event was organised cooperatively by the New Strategy Centre and the Ministry of National Defence.
