The General Manager of Leviatan Design, at ConstructFest

The General Manager of Leviatan Design told the audience at ConstructFest: “Romania’s business environment fosters the growth and development of students and their involvement in projects that are similar to those abroad”
In Romania’s business environment, students can learn, grow, and get involved in projects that are no different from the ones abroad, while enjoying the same – or even better work conditions, the General Manager of the company “Leviatan Design”, Cătălin Podaru, stated in Tuesday’s “ConstructFEST 2022 – European Construction Fair for Pupils and Students.”
On Tuesday, April 5th, 2022, Mr. Podaru visited the 5th ConstructFEST virtual construction market fair that brings together participants from Romania and Europe. The fair covers four days (4-8 April) and is organized by the Technical University of Civil Engineering in Bucharest (UTCB – Universitatea Tehnică de Construcții București) in a hybrid system, i.e. participants, visitors and companies will be able to interact both in person and virtually (by means of a special platform).
ConstructFEST brokers the interaction between students, private businesses and educational institutions.
“We are glad that we can be partners again in this event and I would like to congratulate the university for how radically they have changed their approach over the past few years. The university has become more open and willing to interact with students of all ages. I know that UTCB has approached a number of secondary schools over the past year to promote its educational opportunities and the benefits of the technical professions”, underlined Cătălin Podaru.
Moreover, the General Manager of Leviatan Design wanted to specify that this event was “about the student”.
“We are here not to talk about ourselves, but to talk to the students and tell them how important they are. UTCB’s new approach is very effective, because nowadays we are talking about sustainability, big projects, and development. But first, I think it is important to talk to the students, tell them exactly what is of interest to them, and find out what their needs are. It was mentioned earlier that we want to grow. I invite students to visit the stands, ask questions about the pay, about what it means to have a design or execution job in today’s Romania; this is the only way in which they can understand what can attract them in this field and what it takes to work in the construction business after graduation”, continued Cătălin Podaru.
At the end of his speech, Podaru invited students to ask questions, and request information about what expects them after graduation.
“I am confident that they are all in for a surprise. We were also surprised to see the radical changes that the University started more than five years ago”, he added.
Cătălin Podaru also specified that he discovered involvement, great curiosity, and high interest in the interns working at Leviatan Design.
“Many of them, instead of going on vacation, continued their internships. It was a surprise for us, a very pleasant surprise, but also for them. By interacting with our interns, we discovered that they did not know what was going on in a Romanian company. I am optimistic and I think that if students visit the stands and ask these questions, they will see that not everything is about meta-goals and sustainability and climate changes; they can actually build a career in Romania’s construction business that can provide professional opportunities that are as good as the ones available abroad, if not better. So, let’s enjoy this event, which is dedicated to students! We will be waiting for you at the stands!”, concluded Cătălin Podaru.
