Cosa que por suerte Hergé no hizo. No solo acabó Tintín en el Tibet, sino que, en los angeles opinión de muchos, es una de sus obras maestras. El colour blanco reina también en casi toda los angeles obra, pero esta vez no como una pesadilla sino como una depuración. Vemos aquí a Tintín en su vertiente más humana, muy preocupado por su amigo desaparecido y que emprende un larguísimo y peligroso viaje siguiendo un sueño donde lo ha visto con vida. Hergé da rienda suelta a su fascinación por Oriente y por los fenómenos paranormales: sueños premonitorios, telepatías, levitación...

Hergé se recordó bien a fondo para realizar esta obra. Para el yeti, según nos cuenta él mismo, tenía los angeles lista de todas las personas dignas de crédito que lo habían visto, una descripción muy precisa de su forma de vida y fotografía de sus huellas. Hergé conoció al vencedor del Anapurna, Maurice Herzog, quien también había visto las huellas y se las describió, señalando que no eran las de ningun oso, sino las de alguien bípedo, que se detenían al pié de una montaña rocosa.
